Refuah Multi-Purpose Healing Salve

Refuah, pronounced re-foo-ah, means healing in Hebrew. Whenever someone was sick in my Jewish home growing up, we would wish them a refuah sheleyma, a full and complete healing.

Refuah Salve is a multi-purpose healing ointment that can replace your Neosporin. It helps to heal open wounds and cuts as well as promote healing to generate new skin cells. It can be used for sun burns, cuts, infections, bruises, inflammation, itchiness, rashes, and so much more.

People love to apply this on their pets (cats, dogs, and horses). Simply re-apply if/when they lick it off.

Ingredients: foraged yarrow, plantain, field mint, homegrown calendula & comfrey, organic unrefined olive & avocado oil, local beeswax.

Size Options:

• Twist Up Tube - 0.5 oz. The perfect gift and size to keep in your daily purse/bag.
• Metal Tin - 1 oz. For those of you who like the tactile ritual. Dip your fingers into this magical salve.
• Glass Jar - 2 oz. To keep in your medicine cabinet, on your kitchen table, etc.

About the herbs:

Yarrow- stops bleeding, cleans out the bacteria from the wound, and promotes healing of the wound

Calendula- promotes new cell growth, cleans up the wound internally, soothes burns

Mint- brings cooling to the area & disperses the heat from the inflammation

Comfrey- eases dry & irritated skin, promotes tissue repair, and reduces inflammation, and speed up healing of minor injuries like bruises and sprains.

Comfrey should NOT be used on deep cuts or punctured skin because it can cause new tissue to form too quickly, without giving the underlying skin tissue the chance to heal. When the top layers of skin heal before the deeper layers, an infection or improper healing can occur.

Plantain - relieves itching, soothes inflammation, promotes wound healing

Beeswax- sourced from a family run bee-keeping practice.

How to Use: *Scoop as much salve as you would like on skin.

• Because this formula has comfrey in it, we advice you to NOT apply this ointment unto any truly deep cuts. Read more about comfrey in the “ingredients” section. This salve can be used to ease skin irritations & injuries such as dry skin, burns, sprains, bruises, or superficial cuts.
